New This Week at Laura’s Beads – March 20

Bead Circle Update

“Waterfall Pendant” by Mandi Bugatti, www.beadcircle.com
This pendant caught our eye immediately because it is so different from anything else we’ve done, and has such a trendy, contemporary look. You’ll be making tubes out of multiple colors of 3mm beads using prismatic right-angle weave. Continue by embellishing with seed beads and connecting with Czechmate triangles. Finish with chain and you’re done! The technique is a little tricky, but once you master it, the pendant doesn’t take long to stitch. Come join our bead circle and let us help you create one of your own!

Peyote with a Twist
Due to the extreme popularity of Peyote with a Twist, almost all of our upcoming sessions are currently filled, however we highly encourage you to sign up to be wait listed as we often get cancellations. Also, if there are enough beaders wait listed, we will also consider adding another date and those on the wait list will get first notice of the new date. Thank you!

Classes Newly Added to Calendar

Intermediate Bead-Weaving Class: “Russian Leaves”
Russian leaves are stitched using diagonal peyote. They can be a bit tricky to master at first, but once you’ve got the hang of it they can actually be quick work up. What you do with them next is up to you! You can make up something as simple as a pair of earrings as shown above, or stitch an assortment of them to a spiral necklace and make a much more detailed piece.

This bracelet can be made using either the unique, diamond-shaped “Silky” beads or “Honeycomb” beads, as you’ll see in our variety of stitched samples. This piece is perfect for those new to bead-weaving, so come and give it a try!
