Beginner Stitch Workshop: Flat Herringbone

June 6 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
$9

Herringbone Stitch, sometimes referred to as Ndebele herringbone after the South African tribe that created it, has great texture. You start with a ladder-stitched strip of beads, then work back and forth across the row, adding two beads at a time. Designed by Michelle Leonardo. Inspired by the Hilton Head Sea Pines lighthouse in South Carolina, these striped bracelets are perfect for stacking! The artist made the original version as a bangle, however if you prefer to wear a bracelet with a clasp, we'll show how you can easily make that modification. When we completed our bracelets in darker colors than the ones shown in the magazine, it occurred to us that these could actually be made into something that a guy could wear with the right color selections. So if you've always been wondering what bead weaving piece you could make for the guy on your gift list, give these a try!
